IDAA is national and legally registered nonprofit humanitarian and Development Organization geographically with office in Mogadishu-Somalia and Sub-branch offices in Southwest State-baidoa, Afgoye and Jubaland State of Kismayo. We are dedicated to addressing and solving the complex, inter- related challenges facing the indigenous vulnerable groups of IDPs, women, children, aged ,youth groups, people with Disabilities and the minority, marginalized communities of Somalia. IDAA is seeking durable solutions the Humanitarian crisis affecting to the vulnerable indigenous communities to overcome from the impact of conflict, Climate changes, Drought, Flooding, discrimination, marginalization, Displacement, PSEA, GBV and massive aid diversion.
We aim to providing Humanitarian Assistance and Development opportunities by means of various multi-sectoral intervention strategies in emergency lives saving and lives changing on protection and advocate for their human Rights left beyond through Human rights based approach and humanitarian principles fostering to build better resilience in life and ensuring the delivery of aid through inclusive participatory Approach of all relevant humanitarian , Development , Government institutions and community stakeholders
IDAA was formed by experts from different backgrounds of humanitarian and Development in Somalia and in abroad The mutual aspirations of the founding members of IDAA, led them to take action. Previously from late 2019 IDAA was known International Development Association Of Africa whereby now in 2024 its business name amendment was disaggregated by the founders shifted in to Initiatives For Development And Aid-Advocacy
We are against human suffering in the world for hunger, poverty, discrimination, and marginalization PSEA,,GBV and Human rights to inclusion and exclusion in peace , justice environment ,education ,health economic culturral believes ,ethnicity and languages The focus of our work revolves around supporting the vulnerable indigenous communities/groups in Somalia.
We also focus on MEAL programs to bring quality and accurate data from the field of humanitarian crisis affected populations through community engagement and dialogue /discussion on individual /FGD participation approach to produce evidence based data and analytical reports.
